About:
Jon C. Lazenby focuses his practice on serving closely-held businesses in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, formations and start-ups, equity and debt financing, structuring partnerships and LLCs, succession planning, contract review and negotiations, corporate governance, ownership agreements, franchise arrangements, economic incentives and tax credits, income and sales tax matters, and intellectual property. Mr. Lazenby also provides legal advice to not-for-profit organizations in connection with formation, corporate governance, tax-exempt issues, and mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Lazenby frequently speaks on behalf of local business counseling organizations, such as SCORE and the Small Business Development Center, the Rochester Urban League, and the Monroe County Bar Association. His seminars often focus on legal considerations for starting a business and not-for-profit governance issues. Mr. Lazenby has also presented on a variety of state and federal tax issues.

A native of Rochester, Mr. Lazenby lives in Brighton with his wife and three children. He keeps busy coaching his children’s basketball, baseball and football teams. He also enjoys reading, playing basketball, and the occasional round of golf.
